Rotary Centennial Events

 

The celebration  of 100 years of Rotary International was celebrated over the period from June 2004 to June 2005 and  comprised a multitude of events individually organised by Rotary Clubs all over the world. The events in Henley-on-Thames were jointly organised by the

Rotary Clubs of  Henley Bridge and Henley-on-Thames

The following are some of the projects : 

Henley in Bloom – Rotary Club Centenary garden                    

The Rotary Centennial Garden  was funded by Rotary and local sources. The Centenary Garden is in Mill Meadows and  features the Rotary emblem in granite, and several dedicated wooden seats in a garden setting.

Charity Fashion Show  at  Phyllis Court   231 people attended this  event which raised in excess of £2100, funds raised go to the Carol Keating Breast Cancer Foundation.

River & Rowing Museum Display  A special display  opened in the Henley Wing showing the various activities of Rotary  International and what it does for the local and international communities.
